Rasgulla Mohastav:
According
to history, Rasgulla has invented 300 years ago and it is offered as Bhog in
Jagannath Temple and also used for Goddess Mahalakshmi. According to history
Rasgulla originated in Puri and it is named "Khira Mohana" and later it became the famous sweet in Odisha. Now a day’s Rasgulla is prepared mainly in
PAHALA (Bhubaneswar) & SALEPUR (Cuttack). Presently canned Rasgulla is also available all over India and also in foreign countries.
On the year of
2015 July, 30 Puri Bada panda (worshipers of God Jagannath) declared this day as
Rasgulla Day on the day of Lord Jagannath returns to “Niladri Bije”. Rasgulla is
prepared from Cheese (Chhena) which is produced from milk.
Pahala
and Salepur is the main hub of preparing Rasgulla. A village Pahala is well
known for Rasgulla which adopted this process from Puri and nowadays this village completely depends upon Rasgulla sweet & other cheese-based sweets.
Many foreign tourists come here for Lord Jagannath and especially to enjoy the sweet aroma and taste of Rasgulla.
